Rainy days make dogs smell bad. Perhaps even to themselves.
"You Dirty Dog"
This old sheep dog used to travel around with his owner, Garold "Toad", a farmer in Nebraska. I often saw him sitting in a field in the shade of a truck or a tree while Garold plowed a field. Rainy days were hard on him and he'd look pretty sad, wet and muddy. He protected a flock of geese at the house but was fairly friendly. A few years after this image was made he died and not long later all the geese had been eaten by coyotes
