Dead crawdads in the pond.
Why? Or who?

I have heard that the presence of healthy crawdads in a pond or stream is
an indicator of the healthfulness of the waters. I guess this is not a good
sign. There was a certain beauty nonetheless in these few crawdad remnants in a pond
that had dried up.
