Red Cloud's Shirt

Here learn a bit about the "leader shirt" worn by Lakota chief Red Cloud when he visited Washington D.C.

Porcupine Quillwork

Porcupine quills were used by the plains Indians as well as others to decorate their clothing as well as toys, pipes, bags and other items. This shows a few items of quill work.

Indian artifacts are treasured items today. Belitz replicates many items of the late 1800s including not only the finely quilled and beaded clothing but such things as bone tools, braided prairie turnips and so forth.
